It was going to be hard to top the two-episode arc we got last week, but THE CROSSING managed to hold its own by focusing on character-building. The stakes in THE BAD BATCH don’t often seem too high – especially when we think about the broader STAR WARS universe. But, in episodes like this, we’re (sometimes harshly) reminded that we don’t know the fates of these clones.
We’re seeing more of Tech this season – he’s an interesting character, but because his abilities have some overlap with Echo’s, he’s been pushed to the sidelines. His relationship with Omega and the team broadly is highly compelling, and with this episode, Tech feels more like a foil to Crosshair than before.
THE BAD BATCH took a break from shootouts and battleships in this episode, and I’m hoping for more episodes like this one in the future. THE BAD BATCH S2E9 THE CROSSING is now streaming on Disney+.
