In a return to form, THE BAD BATCH’s latest installment, TRIBE, has the perfect amount of world-building, character development, and, in true STAR WARS fashion, cameos and easter eggs galore. TRIBE also proves that the show doesn’t need to rely on Crosshair for engaging episodes…but, that behind said, THE SOLITARY CLONE is still my favorite episode of the show, so far.
TRIBE is one of the most direct CLONE WARS stories we’ve seen so far. Although a bit on the nose, we’re reminded of the distinction between survival and rebellion in the early days of the Galactic Empire and how, more often than not, surviving itself is inherently rebellious. We also return to Kashyyyk, the Wookie home planet (which has gotten more AVATAR-esque), allowing the show to explore how the empire manipulated existing feuds and rivalries to further their own agendas. All in all, I’m hoping for more episodes like TRIBE going forward.
THE BAD BATCH S2E6 TRIBE is now streaming on Disney+.
