THE BAD BATCH is back, badder and batcher than ever. The series, which debuted last year, follows former Clone Force 99, a set of modified clone troopers immediately following the fall of the Galactic Republic. Its first season was new, interesting, and compelling – but so far, the second season has some catching up to do.

The season premiered in two parts; SPOILS OF WAR 😊 and RUINS OF WAR 😊. Although exciting and action-packed, the debut left more to be desired. I’m hoping that the purpose of these episodes was to reacquaint us with Omega and her relationship with the team; I did need a refresher, but two episodes of animated action without much plot is difficult to defend.

On the other hand, the third episode, THE SOLITARY CLONE 🤩, puts the best of STAR WARS on display. We follow Crosshair on one of his missions, and on the way, we’re given complex world-building, ethical dilemmas, new characters, and even some familiar faces. I loved this episode, which was much needed after its lukewarm predecessors. If you’re diving back into the show, hold out for episode three.

THE BAD BATCH’s second season is now streaming on Disney+, with new episodes coming out weekly.
