TASK S1E7 A STILL SMAL VOICE 🤩

TASK’s finale was perfection. The writers nailed every character arc and rewarded viewers with closure and a substantial pay-off. There were twists I never saw coming, including several entertaining surprises. One simple duffle bag of drugs led to a bunch of cash and caused more problems for every gang, FBI TASK members, and innocent victims. It was intense, exciting, and violent.

The final theme centered around the premise that “we  have to speak the truth, even when it’s going to upset others.” This was a lesson each character had to learn on their own terms and within their timeline. Tom’s journey  (Mark Buffalo) was amazing. His performance was filled with nuanced, subtle, understated dialogues and monologues that personified being in a master acting class. He had us on a roller coaster ride that added layer upon layer of a very complex man. He was unforgettable as he not only battled the bad guys, but also many demons from his past.

The local landscape was also displayed and treated as a separate character. Each scene throughout the series featured lush scenery reminiscent of Philadelphia’s suburban countryside.

The peaceful settings could be compared to gazing at a lidyllic picture that’s captured in a split-second and then explodes with thrilling action moments later. Simply stunning.

TASK does not disappoint. It gave audiences a new look at an established institution within law enforcement. Don’t miss it.

It is streaming on HBO Max.
