TASK is heating up. The FBI team, led by Tom (Mark Ruffalo), is filled to the brim with subplots and major character arcs. The writers have made this intense crime drama all about the suburbs of Philly. It is a human-interest story about those born on the wrong side of the tracks. We are invited to witness their painful journey as they seek vengeance and regain control over their daily lives. Moral questions continually probe the boundaries of the law. Fascinating conundrums are sprinkled everywhere.
The two latest episodes helped to make the writers’ intent very clear. The talented ensemble gives audiences the necessary, silent beats to explore and exploit several harsh situations that can’t possibly end well for anyone. It took me longer to get immersed in TASK than usual, but I am thoroughly hooked on this heartfelt, violent show.
TASK’s strength lies in the hands of amazing stellar actors. Their subtle nuances will take viewers into dangerous neighborhoods that offer no escape. I have a feeling this is sadly happening all over our country today.
