AGATHA ALL ALONG S1 Review 🤩

This will be an odd comparison, but AGATHA ALL ALONG is the closest Marvel Studios has gotten to a Mike Flanagan series. If you think about it, especially after viewing the final two episodes, there’s a lot here about the effects of grief on an individual and how that (coupled with greed and power) can corrupt them. Each member of the coven confronts fears and traumas episodically and makes peace with the idea of death. And given that, I have…

CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (1954) 🤩

When I was a little girl, I distinctly remember watching CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON in 3D on WPIX, a then-independent station out of New York City. I didn’t recall the year or much about the movie except that we had to go to Burger King to pick up the red & blue 3D glasses and that after I saw the film, I was terrified to bathe for a couple of days. Recently I saw that in honor of the…

AGATHA ALL ALONG S1E5 DARKEST HOUR / WAKE THY POWER 🤩

Despite being the shortest episode of AGATHA ALL ALONG, E5 just happened also to be the best one yet. AGATHA ALL ALONG S1E1-E2 😊/🤩

AGATHA ALL ALONG has come “a long” way from 2021’s WANDAVISION. And while it owes its setup to that polarizing show, it has a unique identity that should excite audiences to hop on their broomsticks for another “season of the witch.” E1 SEEKEST THOU THE ROAD 😊 The premiere episode’s procedural cop drama framing works and is a nice setup for the twists and turns ahead. It also helps that Kathryn Hahn chews up the scenery (with gum) every moment…

BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER 😊

Kevin Conroy is the best Batman of all time. There, I said it. I challenge you to find a more damaged Batman than his from my childhood favorite, BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES. It’s the sadness that Conroy can portray in his voice in scenes like ROBIN’S RECKONING when a young Dick asks him, “Does the hurt ever go away?” And he answers with sorrow, warmness, and kindness, “I wish I could say yes. But it will be better in time.…
