It’s such a treat that I’m living through the SUCCESSION era. This week’s episode of jet-setting and jargon-sparring was so fun to watch. The entire appeal of SUCCESSION is the incredible depth of character building; I know people like to debate whether or not the characters on the show are likable, but the whole reason that debate exists is because of the realism imbued into every single person. Even characters I would’ve assumed are minor keep coming back (looking at you guys, Karl, Frank, and Hugo) with some of the funniest dialogues in the show.
KILL LIST, as my friend Donald described it, “is why I watch SUCCESSION” – stunning vignettes of upper-echelon living, subtle power plays, huge emotional peaks, and, of course, humor. I always love it when the Roys & Co. travel, but this episode takes it to another level, jabbing at American behavior abroad.
SUCCESSION is hurtling forward at such an impressive rate; with only a few episodes left, it’s hard to predict how this saga will end. KILL LIST is now streaming on HBO Max.
