SUCCESSION is back with a jet-setting season premiere. Everything I’ve loved about the first two seasons was jam-packed into this episode.

What SUCCESSION does best is making its viewers root for characters who are probably in the wrong – and vice versa. Kendall, whose actions seem (at least to Greg) to be celebrated by the in-universe media, is the most annoying he’s ever been. His new sidekick, Cousin Greg, whose bumbling antics are usually endearing, is a little too incompetent. In any other world, these would be our heroes, taking down a corporation that’s been breaking the law. Instead, they come off as, well, “no comment.”

The second best thing about the show is a tie between the drama and the humor, and there’s the perfect balance of both this episode. And we dive right in, too. The pacing of the season premiere sets so much up, and right now, my expectations are very high for the rest.

The new episode of SUCCESSION is available to watch now on HBO Max.
