That’s it? I spent eight episodes hoping that Dave Filoni would figure out a way to make me care about the characters in AHSOKA, and as a non-REBEL/CLONE WARS watcher, he failed.
So, if I’m not a fan of the series, why do I keep giving it semi-positive reviews? The spectacle of the space sequences, lightsaber battles, and even the fantastic score kept me coming back for more. No, really, this is an extremely well-produced TV series. It has it all, but it will all feel emotionally muted if you have not watched the source material.
What I’ve learned from my time watching AHSOKA, OBI-WAN, THE MANDALORIAN, and BOBA FETT is for me to care about a STAR WARS show, I need Grogu.
