STAR TREK: DISCOVERY is finished. It is done and buried in the archives of what was once an enjoyable sci-fi series. All I can say is thank goodness.

The finale for the season and for the series was unsatisfying. It tried to reel fans together with a storyline that belonged in a philosophy class filled with discussions about infinite galaxies, beginnings, and creations. It begged the question, “What is most meaningful to each of us in our lives?” I can honestly say…I didn’t care. There were just too many huge black holes in the entire plot to join the ending and elicit empathy. It was a mess, and the last sixteen minutes did not invoke the love I once had for this show.

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY brings to mind several NOTHING song lyrics from the musical, A CHORUS LINE. This is how I felt watching the Discovery make its final journey:

“And I dug right down to the bottom of my soul…

To see what I had inside.

Yes, I dug right down to the bottom of my soul…

And cried…

Cause I felt…nothing.”

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY is streaming on Paramount+.
