SPACE CADET 🤮

SPACE CADET is a film that literally begs viewers using its high-pitched energy and whininess to make them believe the storyline could happen. Oh please…not a chance in hell. It is a silly, ridiculous romp through astronaut training for NASA.

Everyone wants and wishes their dreams could come true, but most of the time, it is necessary to put in the hard work and have the necessary skills. Just because becoming an “ascan” is on a “list for the future” does not magically make it happen. Emma Roberts as Rex is totally adorable and totally not believable. Even if she professes to be “hardcore,” she still would not be enough. Yes…yes…chase your dreams…blah, blah. Cute Emma will always be just cute.

I don’t really know what genre SPACE CADET should be connected to. It was not an adventure story, a rom-com, or a film truly about space. It was a wannabe comedy that sprinkled in too many themes while not really exploring any of them in depth. My “meteor shower of truth” tells me it was all just a waste of time. It is streaming on Prime Video.
