RICK AND MORTY’s big season eight episode has arrived. And, while the plot does not move forward in any meaningful way, it delivers the biggest cameos and takedown of Warner Bros. since the show premiered. It’s meta, and a fantastic spoof of LAST ACTION HERO mixed with STRANGER THAN FICTION (replacing Emma Thompson with Jerry).
There is no way to review this episode without spoiling the cameos. But what I can say is that it’s a perfectly timed takedown on franchise fatigue and fandom that has something to say – movie writing is f*cking hard.
