REACHER has premiered its first four of eight episodes for season three. They are action-packed, exciting, entertaining, improbable, and sarcastic as Lee Child would expect them to be since he created the crazy, original novel. As a huge fan of his REACHER character, it does not disappoint.
Alan Ritchson, as REACHER, is built like a brick. I never understood why anyone would mess with him. He is what comes to mind while reading books and watching him on screen, crushing the enemies of anyone he is protecting. It is stupid even to try, but that’s the beauty of the plot’s premise. It cannot be taken too seriously even while bodies are flying by or being shoved into desk cubbies. It is great escapism with a stellar ensemble.Â
REACHER should be savored with each surprising twist and turn. I am in it for the entire journey even when REACHER forgets his toothbrush. Sometimes it is just fun to get out of the real world.
