OUR LITTLE SECRET 🤮

OUR LITTLE SECRET feels out of whack today. It might have worked better a few decades ago, but with all the lies, cheating, and backstabbing in our current society, the film just feels too tame and falls flat.

Avery (Lindsay Lohan) and Logan (Ian Harding) are a couple in limbo. Will they or won’t they get back together? Rom-coms should have this back-and-forth push and pull. It creates tension while adding excitement and anticipation. Tossing in an obstacle such as Erica, (Kristin Chenoweth) the movie should be a hit. This is not the case for OUR LITTLE SECRET. It is whiney and far more predictable than necessary. The writers needed to give their audiences a bit more pizazz, style, and romantic moments. There should be an abundance of angst and hurdles to overcome in order to appreciate the conclusion. What a waste of a stellar star such as Chenowith. As it was, to coin a phrase from CHORUS LINE…”I felt nothing.”

OUR LITTLE SECRET was correct about one thing.  It was little, and not worth your time during the holiday season, and this bums me out because I am a huge fan of this genre. It is streaming on Netflix.
