ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING took audiences to the edge of discovery, therapy, and female bonding. I couldn’t stop hearing Frank Sinatra singing LUCK BE A LADY from GUYS AND DOLLS in my head, all while sitting on the couch imitating an office visit from an old Bob Newhart show. I even felt a little “woo woo to the point of cuckoo.” The writers must have been sitting in that window frame with Selena Gomez and Dianne Wiest way too long. Crazy.
OMITB is still all over the place, trying to gather important murder board facts and evidence. It really is off in left field at times and doesn’t have that clever, sharp edge like it did a few seasons ago. What I miss the most is all the humor, one-liners, and gags that used to keep me laughing and chuckling long after it was over. I am not sure how to fix this problem at this point. I will see it through and hope it does not come back for another season. I want to remember this series as it was in all its glory.
The brightest spot on ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING is witnessing the incredible talent of Meryl Streep. She was as fabulous and beautiful as ever. She makes it all worthwhile.
