ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING just premiered three new fabulous and funny episodes. Season five is starting with a whole new storyline, which returns to its core ensemble in a big way. It feels so comfy and cozy watching Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez get into their familiar groove. They certainly know how to pull off their crazy antics and schtick with exaggerated style. Gosh, I’ve missed their shenanigans and comedic zingers that hit with bullseye aim.
“Death Alone” was not enough. The writers created a plethora of catchy phrases, innuendos, and one-liners that will keep audiences holding their tummies from laughing so hard. The path is covered with shrimp, a finger, playing cards, awful GODFATHER imitations, a casket bit, the crank, and so much more. It is fast-moving from the Arconia all the way to Staten Island. “Awkward is a typical experience in Staten Island.” This puts everything into perspective until the dry cleaning secrets are revealed. Hilarious fun for the podcasters to sort out during an all-nighter.
The new list of guest stars is impressive as well as welcoming back most of the entire ensemble in a picture-perfect montage of “this is your life.” There were seconds I had to reach for the Kleenex box while strolling through a doorman’s history. The writers connected and restrung surprising and necessary threads. Enjoy this simply brilliant passage of time.
ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING is making it known they still got it. I am hooked and ready to roll with the old and new mob. I have only one question. When can I get my gardenia?
