I’m “tapping in” for Esta this week and reviewing the second episode of OMITB. While Esta is in love with this series, I like it a lot, but I’m not over the moon with how last season went. The season four premiere last week was the best opening episode so far. And I’m happy to report that E2 continues the momentum with some comedically sad commentary on life inspired by “GATES OF HEAVEN.” Even though it’s not as good as ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST, it’s still good enough to “dust off” your remote and tune in.
As the chemistry shines bright among the three leads in OMITB, it’s encouraging to see old characters return and new ones join. I loved seeing Desmin Borges from YOU’RE THE WORST and Richard Kind (Bing Bong!) make cameo appearances that I dare not spoil.
ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING is just heating up. You would think that this show would grow tired after three seasons by reusing the same plot mechanism. Yet, with Martin, Short, and Gomez, the show continues to be appointment viewing TV.
