NOWHERE ๐Ÿ˜Š

NOWHERE is a dramatic, intense thriller and not meant for claustrophobic people. It only works as โ€œwellโ€ as it does because of the superb acting skills demonstrated by Anna Castillo, who portrays Mia.ย

Mia is a pregnant, desperate woman. It is hard for most of us to understand the depths of cruelty humanity can inflict on one another. Fleeing is sometimes the only viable answer. Yet, I would never think of calling a shipping container a method of transportation. Most of the film features Mia and her harrowing journey. It is filled with anguish, pain, and more water than I ever want to see. How Anna expresses all of this is what makes this movie compelling.ย

NOWHERE felt a little long. More editing would have given this film an even faster pace and not allowed the holes in the story to be so blatant and in your face. It is necessary to suspend disbelief to get to the payoff. Some of the poor plot choices just were there to move the story forward. Disappointing moments in a tale about survival and, in the end, hope.ย

NOWHERE can be streamed on Netflix.
