NOBODY WANTS THIS S2 REVIEW ๐Ÿ˜Šย

I recently binged the entire second season of NOBODY WANTS THIS all within one evening of viewing time. I am glad I did. I was entertained with moments of friendship, angst, heartbreak, disappointment, frustration, pain, confusion, self-discovery, inspiration, comedy, truths, and most important of allโ€ฆlove.

Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) are overflowing with couple chemistry. Their love story is at the center of this series, and there is no denying how much of a roller coaster ride their bumpy journey together rings authentic for people of all ages. The two of them have the acting chops to brilliantly and subtly showcase how to maneuver through love. It doesnโ€™t get old yet, although next season I hope they can move past the question of whether she will or wonโ€™t.ย

The dialogues are fast-paced, clever, and realistic. It helped having such an outstanding supporting ensemble, embracing different levels of love. Morgan and Andy, Sasha and Esther, and both Joanne and Noahโ€™s parents gave new meaning to navigating lifeโ€™s challenging issues. Between the zinging one-liners were compelling, captivating character arcs that will lead audiences to the final frame.ย

NOBODY WANTS THIS gives new meaning to the ties that bind sister and brother relationships. It highlights loyalty no matter what. The comedy mirrors family and community roots. It guides audiences to discover that change and growth are possible even if you are an old-fashioned, stubborn bubbe (Tovah Feldshuh) or the free-spirited, narcissistic, zany sister (Justine Lupe). This is all thanks to the excellent writing team, which constantly throws in perfectly timed quotes from literature. The writers are simply modeling โ€œhow to be a weโ€ in modern times while trying to incorporate believed traditions from our past. It all reinforced that it truly takes a village to survive and thrive, even when a crazy, current actor makes a guest appearance to lead some people astray.ย

NOBODY WANTS THIS was lovely. It made me smile, laugh out loud, ponder, grow, and remember. I am already looking forward to what will come next. I canโ€™t wait for more โ€œMatzah Ballersโ€ and โ€œJewish Halloween.โ€

It is streaming on Netflix.ย
