MY SECRET SANTA 🤮

Even though MY SECRET SANTA has two of my favorite TV stars as the romantic leads, this holiday rom-com still has trouble staying above the meh or vomit critic line. It is so predictable and contains far too many potholes to overcome. 

Alexandra Breckenridge (VIRGIN RIVER) and Ryan Eggold  (NEW AMSTERDAM) are adorable together as Taylor and Matthew. They definitely have sweet chemistry in a light-hearted way, but it is not enough to sustain the film’s momentum for a full ninety minutes. Too many of the schtick moments have been done before and better. It doesn’t matter whether any of the scenes are considered a date or if hot chocolate is in play. It is impossible to suspend disbelief that much, especially during the holiday season. 

MY SECRET SANTA is sometimes cute, but cute doesn’t always cut it when wanting a good, romantic movie to wile away the hours.
