MY OXFORD YEAR 🤮

MY OXFORD YEAR was sappy, predictable, and sad. It was touching in some brief moments because of how it touched upon the subject of grief as well as love. It was not expected, yet it was. Light-hearted romance was complicated to balance through the tears.

Yes, Anna and James had chemistry galore. Yes, the Oxford location was lovely. Yes, the family relationships had problems to solve. The ending didn’t land this type of serious rom-com like it needed to do. It was too perfectly pat. I was disappointed in the chosen direction, but this story was based on a novel by Julia Whalen. There was a plethora of positive affirmations. Ugh.

MY OXFORD YEAR didn’t warm my heart like it should have. I am a romance fan, but I wasn’t feeling the banal dialogue and all the “messy bits.”

MY OXFORD YEAR is streaming on Netflix.
