MAYBE I DO 🤮

MAYBE I DO features a powerhouse cast of actors but fails miserably due to a too talkie script. Romcoms must percolate with action, humor, and intimate, loving moments. What a lost opportunity surrounded by so much talent.

This film stars Diane Keaton, Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, William H. Macy, Emma Roberts, and Luke Bracey. This is star power. But that is not what viewers received. The action was stiff and awkward. There wasn’t enough empathy built up to really care what happens in the end. This is the writer’s fault. The story was half-baked, and like a soufflé, it never had the opportunity to rise.

MAYBE I DO did give audiences some sweet Richard Gere seconds and a few heartfelt, humorous smiles from William H. Macy, but it was not enough to sustain 90 minutes of film time. MAYBE I DO is so not a SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE or even an ANNIE HALL depiction of love and marriage. It is not worth your time or attention, but it is available to stream on Hulu.
