I was hesitant to watch the sitcom comedy LEANNE. it is really not my kind of humor, but I noticed Rotten Tomato’s audience rating was at 96%.  This is really high, but then LEANE’s fans are everywhere. They simply adore her down-home style of humor that centers around a woman’s life. This series will not disappoint, and I found myself binging through 16 episodes in two days. In my defense, each one was under 25 minutes.Â
LEANNE was created by Chuck Lorre (BIG BANG THEORY, TWO AND A HALF MEN) and stand-up comedian LEANNE Morgan. Their partnership brought a story of a Tennessee woman and her crazy,  charming family whose life was turned upside down after 33 years of marriage. It is packed with funny bits and realistic moments women of a certain age can find relatable. it tackles unexpected topics such as God, growing older, finding yourself at any age, aging parents, dating, friendship, and love. It is light and breezy while offering oodles of tips and solutions. I found it enjoyable and entertaining. It will lift viewer’s spirits while placing a smile on their faces.Â
The cast for LEANNE is a rollcall for excellent, well-known comedy actors which includes Kristen Johnston, Blake Clark, Ryan Stiles, Cecilia Westin , Jama Mays, and Tim Daly. Audiences will recognize everyone from past huge tv hit shows, movies, and sitcoms. It is a plethora of acting talent and timing.Â
LEANNE is fun to watch. I am hoping for another season in the future. It will tickle audiences’ funny bone. Yes, it is predictable, but that’s what makes southern comfort so warm and inviting.Â
LEANNE is streaming on Netflix.Â
