Jack Ryan is back for another action-packed season. Only two episodes premiered, sharing several intense, violent moments of this popular spy thriller originally created by Tom Clancy.ย
The opening sequence containedย ย โhigh voltageโ moments and showed the CIA as the perfect microcosm of the American people. โGoing rogueโ seems to be the chosen plan for solving Jackโs problems. It leads to exciting and entertaining side trips along the way. John Krasinski as Jack and Wendell Pierce as James create an excellent duo. They make their scenes look effortless and so in sync. Their camaraderie on screen gives viewers the necessary humorous breaks and pauses between all the other โtwisty, turnyโ convoluted, outrageous incidents. It makes average citizens ponder if this is a normalย workday for our countryโs secret agents.
I thoroughly enjoyed episode one and thought the second was a bit more โtalkyโ and more of a filler. I realize these are necessary to set everything in motion for whatโs to come. I just needed more in between. I did like the sarcasm when the writers pitted the big speech against the plan gone wrong in the final scenes. Anticipation is good for the soul. I canโt wait.
JACK RYAN is fun, dangerous, and pure escapism for all who canโt get enough in their everyday lives.
It is available to stream on AMAZON PRIME.ย
