HOSTAGE is a British limited series, fast action, spy thriller. I binged all five episodes in one evening. It’s intense, exciting, and great entertainment. It moved quickly to the final frame with a definite look to another season. I can’t wait.
Suranne Jones and Julie Delpy lead the cast as England’s Prime Minister and French President. The two ladies presented a powerful force maneuvering a path through politics and terrorism. Their strong acting skills gave this story the necessary foundation. The writers gifted them with compelling, authentic, and authoritative words that most people dream of hearing within today’s political circus. It’s what people want, but it never comes to pass. I’ll take HOSTAGE’s turmoil any day over reality.
HOSTAGE was well executed. It totally went “there.” It dared to show the flaws that most so desperately try to hide. It didn’t offer all the answers, and this was what made it all the more human.
