HIS THREE DAUGHTERS is not for the weak of heart, for it will grab every heartstring and pull tightly until the very end. Viewers will see a bit of their family dynamics within each scene. It is honest, raw, and so authentic it is hard to believe someone had the chutzpah to create this movie.
The strength of this film lies deep within the extraordinarily talented Carrie Coon, (GONE GIRL) Natasha Lyonne, (RUSSIAN DOLL), and Elizabeth Olsen (WANDA VISION). These brilliant actresses led audiences through a hospice/grief-filled journey. This was accomplished through profound and thoughtful monologues and dialogues. The pacing was fierce and never let up. Their timing, breaths, and facial and body expressions were sheer perfection. It was as if audiences and actors were walking on eggshells in every frame. It hits triggers that most of us safely keep hidden and tucked tightly away. It was unforgiving, brutal, funny, and true to life and death. I was captivated and could not turn away…nor should you.
HIS THREE DAUGHTERS will take viewers on an emotional recall of dealing with life’s final days. Every conversation was spot-on and fraught with the frailties of humanity. This was punctuated just by listening to the sounds of a machine pumping final seconds into momentous moments. I love excellence in film and television. This is must-see TV. Warning…have Kleenex nearby.
It is streaming on Netflix.
