“I Think You Kinda, You Know” that my review for a series about the classic HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL couldn’t be anything but 🤩. From the opening sequence referencing THE GREATEST SHOWMAN, I was all in. The overly happy series has one toe-tapping song per episode. And if you’re “Wondering” if it’s worth it. It is!

The breakout star in this diverse cast is Olivia Rodrigo. Audiences could easily dismiss her as a Sabrina Carpenter knockoff, yet it’s an unfair comparison. Her GIRL MEETS WORLD moment in the series is when she gets in touch with her inner girl power for “All I Want.” Not to mention her new solo career, where she’s been forever immortalized on SNL for “Drivers License.”

The show is far from perfect with plotlines that “Stick to the Status Quo.” Including a science versus theatre teacher rivalry that’s just as predictable as it sounds (spoiler alert, literal sparks fly). If audience can endure the uninspiring mid-season, they will be rewarded with song/dance numbers that are “All You Want” from a musical TV show.

It feels weird saying this, but I’m excited for season two premiering next week. I can’t wait to see where the Wildcats return on Disney Plus as they “Start Something New” in season two.
