This week, viewers were treated to another episode of HACKS. The writers are raising the power stakes that Deborah (Jean Smart) now holds in her hands. One word from her and poof… things change. I feel this might not bode well for her or Late Night.Â
WITCH OF THE WEEK spread the gossip between Ava (Hannah Einbender) and her boss, Deborah. Their relationship is constantly in flux. The writers are exploring the whims and moodiness of fame. It is being wielded like a mighty sword in front of the ensemble. Â Not everyone can get a ride in a Zamboni or be carried into a studio by muscled men.Â
HACKS is humorous and fun. It screams about the tenuous ties between friendship, family, and work employees. Perhaps this is foreshadowing. Only time will tell, but I’m rooting for the comedic duo to emerge unscathed.Â
