GOODRICH ๐Ÿ˜Šย

GOODRICH is a poster picture for a mid-life crisis. It is a coming-of-age story for a man who never saw the clouds brewing, although everyone else noticed the writing on the wall. It is a smart, sad, fast-moving film featuring the stellar acting chops of Michael Keaton as Andy GOODRICH. He will pull at every heartstring available, and through the tears, audiences will be inspired to do better.

This is not a remake of MR. MOM or MULTIPLICITY. Audiences will be tempted to make that erroneous comparison. GOODRICH simply shows a man not listening, with all the repercussions. It is a domino effect, and it goes on and on. Keaton is extraordinary in every nuanced moment. Audiences will see the pain, loneliness, and growth. It is a marvelous journey. My one complaint is how old Keaton is in real time vs. the probable age of his character. This seemed out of sync by about ten to fifteen years.ย

Mila Kunis, as Grace, GOODRICHโ€™s daughter, was a powerhouse. She brought the emotional detritus found in most father/daughter relationships. She was tremendous reliving the angst of her childhood. Her big monologue was brave and thought-provoking. The verbal montage of a child growing up will bring viewers to their knees due to the writerโ€™s honesty and grasp of the circle of life.ย

GOODRICH surprised me with its depth, humor, and truthful storytelling. It reminded me of many invisible men who surround us daily.

It is streaming on MAX.ย
