GEN V S1E6 JUMANJI ๐Ÿ˜Š

After an explosively bloody premiere, GEN V has struggled to figure out how to balance plot progression while also providing numerous character backstories.

In JUMANJI, we take a “head trip” inside Cate’s (Maddie Phillips) mind, allowing for several overlapping stories to have their moment to shine. Yet, none of the kids’ stories are as engaging as if the leads would’ve been in the real world like they are during the final few minutes. Well, except for a MEET THE FEEBLES-like moment that I dare not spoil.

We only have a few episodes left of GEN V, and at this point, the series has fallen into a lesser spinoff of the THE BOYS. Spinoffs can be fantastic (see BETTER CALL SAUL), but in the current state of affairs, GEN V is playing like the JUMANJI reboot. Entertaining, empty, popcorn-worthy fun, but nothing worthy of Cate allowing audiences to remember it.

The latest episode is available to stream on Prime Video.
