FROM S3E6 SCAR TISSUE 🤮

Every serialized TV show has filler episodes. Some are better than others. Unfortunately, SCAR TISSUE is one of the worst FROM episodes and one of the worst TV episodes I’ve seen in recent memory.

I wish I could invoke some personal memory related to FROM, but this week’s episode did absolutely nothing. The story didn’t move forward. No big emotions were invoked. Not a single storyline was really interesting. AT ALL. I’ve compared FROM to LOST in the past, and even the most filler of LOST episodes usually had something we could laugh/cry/care about.

FROM’s biggest issue is inconsistency. At the beginning of the season, there were many possibilities for where Tabitha’s story could go. And it indeed went to an unexpected place and dragged some new characters into the series along with it. And every moment since then has been a flop. A huge build-up with endless potential, only to bring us back to where we were. Julie and Ethan have been complete afterthoughts this entire season, sidelined to spend more time with Jade, Victor, and the most boring couple alive: Fatima and Ellis.

I genuinely feel sad for actors Pegah Ghafoori (Fatima) and Corteon Moore (Ellis) for being asked to carry more weight this season but given so little to root that on. Even Fatima’s strange cravings are going nowhere, and when we finally get some answers in this episode, it just comes to a frustrating resolution. Two steps forward, three steps back.

I want to say one good thing about SCAR TISSUE: the casting of Robert Joy as Henry, Victor’s dad, has been great. The actors look enough alike and have similar mannerisms. After this week’s episode, I have every right to worry that FROM is going to completely screw this storyline up and send it to another dead-end.

FROM streams Saturday nights on MGM+, which you can get as an add-on to Amazon Prime Video or on its own.
