FREE BERT S1 REVIEW ๐Ÿ˜Š

FREE BERT is not for everyone. It features the raw, uncensored humor of stand-up comedian Bert Kreisler as he and his family try to fit in with the rich at a private school setting in Beverly Hills. This scenario has failure written all over it.ย

The jokes are crude and really not appropriate dialogue with pre-teen daughters. There are F bombs dropped every other second. Yet, I realize there is an audience for this type of show who are probably howling with delight at breaking every normal boundary of what is considered acceptable adult behavior.ย

FREE BERT does have funny, sweet moments, but they are few and far between, overshadowed by the cringe-worthy look of shirtless Bert. Some of the life lessons highlighted are on opposite ends of the ethical spectrum. Yes, Bert is trying to point out the flaws and inconsistencies of our society. I get that, but the series never holds back the outrageous spew of filthy, incorrigible monologues. This is the conundrum. Bert is likable, but oh, so misguided. It makes me want to meet his parents and peel back the layers of his childhood.ย

FREE BERT will take a strong constitution to get through. I did, and I am glad I got to see where the obscene, over-the-top comedy show lands. I am just not sure I can recommend it with a clear conscience to the general public. I leave that decision up to each individual.

FREE BERT is streaming on Netflix.
