TYLER PERRY’S DOING LIFE 🤮

DOING LIFE is another creation from Tyler Perry’s production company. It is a serious look at encouraging people to give others a second chance. It reinforces the theme that there is good in everyone. It is a tale of family members taking advantage of each other, and finally, it is definitely a sweet love story. DOING LIFE is a film about survival that Perry also wrote and directed. It holds no real surprises. For me, it is a film that just passes the time.

Jay Reeves and Naomi Baker were lovely to look at and admire, but the pacing was slow and at times tedious. The opening sequence held the most action. From there, it was a pretty quiet, predictable conclusion. Ho hum. This is all I can say. I truly wanted more. I wanted something I didn’t expect to happen…happen. But it never really did. If this is your thing, then you will be satisfied. I was not. The best part was the double meaning of the title words. Clever, but just not enough.

DOING LIFE is streaming on Netflix.
