After the season finale, DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN has “Everything is in its Right Place” to set up next season. As audiences witness a “punishing” amount of violence, it’s clear that the war between Kingpin and Daredevil will “push” New York City to the brink.
Throughout season one of DAREDEVIL, the creators employed the Christopher Nolan technique of having different scenes with similar themes playing out simultaneously. The finale did this with Daredevil, Kingpin, and a character I won’t name (even though his image is in the episode key art of the Disney+ app). This style rachets the intensity to a level we’ve never seen in MCU television – and it’s brutally beautiful.
Reflecting on the ups and downs of season one, I firmly believe it’s up there with the top-tier MCU. Yes, it’s uneven in the middle at times. However, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are so damn good that it doesn’t matter. I can’t wait for them to “kill it softly” in season two as the Daredevil’s war against Kingpin to “resist, rebel, and rebuild” is just getting started.
The entire first season is available on Disney+.
