HEARTSTOPPER’s third season is a return to form after a muddling second season that spent too much time on lesser characters (ugh, that Paris subplot). What I loved about S3 was watching all of the coupling and how each relationship grew stronger in the face of adversity. Charlie and Nick are clearly the main characters in HEARTSTOPPER. Yet, that doesn’t stop the supporting cast from all having emotionally satisfying arcs – Tao and Ellie ❤️. My only nit for season…
Continue ReadingBoom. SHRINKING returns with a two-episode premiere, and it once again fills the gap left by everyone’s favorite feel-good sports comedy, TED LASSO. Of the two episodes, JIMMYING is the stronger emotionally, while I LOVE PAIN, ironically, is the funnier. I’m not going to lie; SHRINKING is a messy series. Various plot points seem extraneous, and some characters receive screen time that probably shouldn’t. However, the world that the creators have built feels like conversing with a flawed group of…
Continue ReadingFOREST GUMP is an American classic odyssey that sincerely weaves throughout our real-life history. It takes audiences deep within the good and bad that happens to each and every one of us.…
Continue ReadingIn the best episode yet of THE PENGUIN, Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti) has officially become the MVP. CENT’ANNI is one helluva new edition that takes a step backward, providing audiences with a much-needed “crazy” flashback that allows us to understand how Sofia became The Hangman. It’s beautifully realized and elevates this series to the level of prestige TV reserved for HBO’s previous best-in-class fandom content, THE LAST OF US. It’s TBD if THE PENGUIN stays afloat through its eight-episode first…

Continue ReadingTHERE AND BACK AGAIN is the best of this season so far, lucky me! Like LOST, FROM has a large cast and the show does switch focus from week to week. Unlike LOST, FROM doesn’t always hyper-focus on one character which is a plus.…
Continue ReadingASTRO BOT reminded me that video games can be magical. Everything about this game is delightful. Even when it’s punishing you with a challenging platforming level, you can’t help but smile, as it’s never the game’s fault that you died. It’s always a user error, but it’s a mistake you can learn and optimize for your next life. For this review, I could discuss the various gameplay mechanics, as people have seen in all the other reviews: the epic boss…

Continue ReadingDespite being the shortest episode of AGATHA ALL ALONG, E5 just happened also to be the best one yet. The “blood moon” was fully displayed as DARKEST HOUR / WAKE THEY POWER, played on classic witch stereotypes (brooms, magic, and so much more) but added a twist that will change the course of this show going forward. As I’m watching HEARTSTOPPER at the same time as AGATHA, I must mention again that it’s so satisfying to “crown” Joe Locke as…
