CANDY CANE LANE 🤮

CANDY CANE LANE was such a disappointing film. I adore Eddie Murphy, but the writers didn’t create a script that played to his comedic genius and timing. Every moment just seemed “off.”

The film’s ensemble boasted a ton of talent. It included Tracee Ellis Ross, Jillian Bell, Nick Offerman, and David Alan Grier. How could it go so wrong? Easy…the writers needed to slow it down and take a deep breath. Most of the film felt like everyone was running around with their heads cut off, or maybe it was just all the “geese a’laying” and “cow’s a’milking.” I couldn’t tell. I was too mesmerized by the brassy tuba tones. Oh, what a messy and frantic film.

I would not waste my time on CANDY CANE LANE. It’s a very busy season and I imagine, all our schedules are full. It is available on Prime Video.
