BROAD CITY is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen. It’s created by its stars, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, who play fictionalized versions of themselves.

At first glance, the show’s premise may seem contrived – I mean, how many shows exist about 20-something-year-olds living in New York City? But BROAD CITY is truly different. Abbi and Ilana’s shenanigans border surrealism at times yet also manages to be relatable. If Todd from BOJACK HORSEMAN had his own show, I bet it’d be pretty similar to BROAD CITY.

The bizarre misadventures of these best friends are enthralling to watch, the writing is crisp, and the cast is hilarious. Plus, the show is refreshingly inclusive and progressive, and its portrayal of friendship is incredibly wholesome.

If you’re looking for a self-aware, goofy comedy to watch, all five seasons of BROAD CITY are available to stream on Hulu.
