I should’ve trusted that the creators of BETTER CALL SAUL were not “rushing the process.” One might even say that the mid-season finale was a perfect “Plan and Execution.”
The best BREAKING BAD episodes crossed the home life story of Walter White and the underbelly of drugs. When those two stories collided, it always made for a special hour of TV. This week’s BETTER CALL SAUL mirrors BREAKING BAD, in that two stories, the cartel and Saul’s (Bob Odenkirk) world collide. And the results explode onto the screen worse than a can of soda with too much carbonation.
E7 is perfect. All six seasons of BETTER CALL SAUL have meticulously plotted the course for this hour of TV where the drug cartel and lawyer world crash. The flame on the candle will go out on this series soon as it winds down the last few episodes this summer. But until then, one thing is for sure; audiences NEED to watch the best show of 2022.
It’s available on AMC in the U.S. or Netflix internationally.
