BEST. CHRISTMAS. EVER! It is in one word…not. It is a silly story without any decent depth, even in the hands of several talented comedic actors. Heather Graham, Jason Briggs, and Brandy could not help but sink within an insipid script.
This film needed to decide exactly what the audience’s payoff would be at the conclusion. Was it all about defining success as having enough money for that dream house and landing the perfect job? Was it supposed to deal with a grieving parent? Or perhaps the spectacle of a hot air balloon will make a believer out of everyone. The writers skittered over so many themes it was impossible to say. And no amount of “moving furniture” could possibly save this movie or give me back the time I lost watching it.
BEST. CHRISTMAS. EVER! is, I hope, not an indication of the usual holiday film fair shown at this time of year. This movie does not deserve your precious time or attention.
