BACK IN ACTION 🤮

BACK IN ACTION brought two great actors together in a predictable and improbable film, sinking it with too many holes to stay afloat. Yes, there was star power featuring Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, and even the illustrious Glenn Close, but this talented trio could not raise this film to an acceptable level. It could have been so much more, but it just wasn’t.

Spy thrillers, especially a family spy thriller, can be great fun. In this case, BACK IN ACTION failed in multiple areas. The dialogue, the over-the-top unbelievable stunts, and the theme were way out of whack. The writers did not clarify who they were writing for and kept seesawing between a kid’s movie and one aimed at adult humor. It was a mess, which was a shame because I adored Diaz, Foxx, and Close in many of their previous endeavors.

BACK IN ACTION is not slick for an extremely fast-paced film. It does not deserve a second of your valuable time.

It is streaming on NETFLIX.
