“May the Force be with you.” – Various Star Wars characters
“I am your father.” – Darth Vader
“Do or do not. There is no try.” – Yoda
“We have hope. Rebellions are built on hope.” – Jyn Erso
In an already “best of Star Wars” season, ONE WAY OUT is ANDOR’s strongest showing yet. Come for the suspense and stay for a perfectly timed moment of heartbreak. As we’ve talked about in the past, ANDOR has been chiefly split into four mini-arcs of 3 episodes each, and EP10 neatly ties up director Toby Haynes’s work on season one. I absolutely hope to see him return next season.
There are many memorable quotes from the Star Wars universe over the last 45 years, but that last one above from ROGUE ONE echoes in my mind throughout ANDOR. We are watching that rebellion build and the one thing that keeps propelling Cassian, Mon, Luthen, and others forward is hope. Cassian is not yet aware of the pivotal role he will play, but for an outsider on the run, hope for a better tomorrow is often the only thing he has.
ONE WAY OUT is the most quotable episode of the season, but it doesn’t rely on a couple of memorable lines of dialogue to deliver 43 action-packed minutes. Don’t forget to breathe as Cassian and the rest of the inmates of the Narkina 5 complex put everything on the line to change their future. We’ve heard Cassian discuss his past, but ONE WAY OUT showcases even further the skills that put him on Luthen Rael’s radar and how inspirational of a leader he can be.
