AND JUST LIKE THATโฆ we are back! The season premiere doesnโt pose any questions or set up a theme for the season. I suppose you could say that it revolves around Carrie having to face the big questions with Aidan and address the fact that they canโt keep waiting in this limbo of being apart. I was teetering between giving this episode an experience whenever ๐ and an experience now ๐คฉ, but I ultimately snapped myself out of that haze when I realized it was slightly above average compared to the previous episodes of AND JUST LIKE THAT. It’s not the worst, but compared to the entire SEX AND THE CITY story, itโs not even in the same universe as being one of the best, better, or even great episodes.
I genuinely cherish this world and these characters so much, I am a Charlotte until the day I die. I was hooked, and this episode presented some dilemmas that mirrored the plotlines of the original series. With that being said, I donโt care about any characters except the main trio. I enjoy seeing characters like Harry or Anthony again, but they donโt add much dynamic. Three seasons in, I still canโt fully connect to Lisa, Seema, and ROCKโฆ
I wish Carrie’s voice-overs would come back; I think this show would greatly benefit from them. I am excited for what is to come, but honestly, from the past two seasons, the show feels dumbed down from what it was initially supposed to be in 1998. And yes, I understand AND JUST LIKE THAT is not SEX AND THE CITY, and itโs a new generation and a new age, but that romance and punch is just lacking. This episode had some fun moments, but at the end of the day, nothing truly remarkable that left a spark.
AND JUST LIKE THAT is now streaming on MAX.
