With the legendary Patti Lapone in the cast of AGATHA, audiences knew it was “in the cards” that an episode would feature her as the lead. While she kills it in her “Wicked” performance, there’s much to be desired as the show crawls down the witch’s road for a lot of backstory.
There’s not much to hate in E7, but for such an emotional and uniquely told presentation, I wanted to love it. Instead, I liked it a lot and blame the framing of the trial for this one. The trial was the weakest part and merely a mechanism to allow us to travel through time and understand Lilia’s interesting origins.
It’s clear that the characters in AGATHA will continue to face “Maleficent” obstacles. Audiences know that the “path is winding out of time” since next week is the two-episode finale. I can’t wait to see where the Witch’s Road ends (although I feel that more “death” will be involved for the remaining characters’ tarot cards.
It’s available on Disney+.
