YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN S1 REVIEW 🤩

YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN is everything I want Marvel television to be. It consistently tinkers with the Spider-Man universe and character origins just enough to satisfy even the most die-hard fans. More significantly, it does something that hasn’t happened in a Marvel series for me since X-MEN ’97; it had me invested in the characters, and I cared about their journeys.

I will admit that the Telltale video game animation style in YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN takes some getting used to. When I first saw it, the frame rates looked off, and the characters’ lips appeared out of sync when they spoke. Yet, as the series continued, I realized this animation style perfectly fits the comic book genre. The creators used stylistic choices that made it feel like I watched a comic book come to life.

After several mid-Marvel entries, it’s exciting to see them back and deliver a top-tier series that has wisely been greenlit for two more seasons. I can’t wait to see Peter Parker learn what it means when another character tells him, “With great power comes great respect.”

It’s available on Disney+, and I can’t recommend it enough.
