Another holiday rom-com is passing through AMAZON’s 2022 repertoire. YOUR CHRISTMAS OR MINE? should probably just keep on going.
It’s not that the film was a total waste of time. It did have its moments of sweetness and potential romance. The movie featured the value of family, being honest with each other, healing from loss, and just having fun with those you love. These are all great themes, but YCOM never did sink deep enough into any of these thoughts. Instead, the writers skimmed and slid around it all until its perfect ending. This is what holiday movies do, but it all seemed “too pat.” I like a touch more intrigue and second-guessing. I enjoy bigger payoffs in the end.
YOUR CHRISTMAS OR MINE? just didn’t give me the holiday reward I was looking for this time of year. I am not giving up. I will continue my quest for a new fave seasonal romance. Sadly, this one just wasn’t enough.
