WOMEN IN BLUE S1E3-E4 🤩

WOMEN IN BLUE showcases the deep resentment and machismo attitude toward four female police officers in the early 1970s. The way they are treated and looked down upon is almost criminal. The irony is how much better they are at detecting than their superior male detective bosses, but no one listens.

The series is spoken entirely in Spanish, with access to English-speaking voiceovers. It is a fast-paced, serial murder mystery that begs the use of a person’s intellect and not angry, out-of-control outbursts. Mexico used and relied on the power of a man and not the “little woman.” The four ladies were constantly walking on eggshells at work and home. It is truly amazing how they persevered while being forced to wear blue miniskirts and knee-high boots. Their only weapon allowed was a whistle. I am so glad times have changed.

WOMEN IN BLUE is highly entertaining in a very “soapy” way, yet they still feel real and authentic despite all the drama-trauma. It is a well-produced series that teaches its viewers how far we have come. Many stand on the shoulders of these first sixteen women who dared to break the acceptable standard.

It is streaming on APPLE TV+.
