WIDOW’S BAY S1 REVIEW 🤩

WIDOW’S BAY completed its first season with a nightmarish, frustrating, amazing conclusion. The story is obviously not finished. I am excited for its return and to be introduced to even more goulash characters running amok on the small island of WIDOW’S BAY.

It was a fun, fraught-with-trepidation finale. I did not see it coming. I love when writers deliver holy shit moments. WIDOW’S BAY’s writing is sharp, edgy, and borders on horror, thriller, and comedy. It is a fabulous blending of several genres that will make audiences beg for more. I wasn’t sure I would like it at first, but then, out of nowhere, I was hooked. Bravo for whisking me away with pure, entertaining escapism.

The series worked so well on several levels, but its strength lay in the fine actors who created such creepy, out-of-control characters.  This compliment is especially for Matthew Rhys. His facial expressions and extra beats of total disbelief made the story even more intriguing, spellbinding, and believable. He was a joy to watch. Kudos also to Patricia and Wyck. I could watch the two of them argue all day long. Their timing was impeccable.

WIDOW’S BAY is a semi-scary, delightful series. I want to learn more about this cursed land. I want to see it all resolved. I will think twice about taking any ferry to a small town on an island. I wouldn’t want it to be a one-way excursion.

WIDOW’S BAY is streaming on Apple TV. Check it out.
