Canadian actress Kacey Rohl gives a riveting performance in the faking cancer film WHITE LIE. The film attempts to say something about human nature and our need to blindly give to others, but fails to go anywhere deeper than the surface level.
However, that surface level is entertaining as the film unfolds like the UNCUT GEMS of the cancer world. It even includes a similarly intense Passover scene. We watch Katie (Rohl) get herself into one white lie and wonder if she’s going to change throughout the process. But just like Howard in GEMS, “she’s going to do what she has to do and everyone else is going to do what they have to do.”
It’s available to rent on Amazon Prime Video.
