WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS S6E1-E3 🤩

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS is bat… I mean, back! And it’s just as relevant, funny, and outrageously violent after fifty-plus episodes. At this point, the ensemble is “familiar.” However, this show’s “acquired taste” will be missed when it departs our TV screens after the sixth season. I’m sad to see it go, yet I’m also excited for it to go out on its own terms. This group of lovable characters didn’t start the fire, but the show’s style will surely entertain audiences and “burn on, and on, and on” when it’s gone.

A quick breakdown of the first three episodes

E1 THE RETURN OF JERRY 😊

The show hilariously introduces a new character, Jerry. But in typical WWDITS style, it quickly relinquishes them to the background. Sadly, though, E1 is missing Guillermo, and the chemistry without him shows.

E2 HEADHUNTING 🤩

Grotesquely, Laszlo is back using science to try and reanimate someone from beyond the grave. And the writers wisely pair him with everyone’s favorite energy vampire, Colin for some perfect Uber driving bits. Elsewhere, Guillermo gets a ton more screen time in some of the best comedy set in an office since Colin’s cubicle days.

E3 SLEEP HYPNOSIS 🤩

E3 does zero to move the plot along but allows each cast member to shine. Out of the three-episode premiere, SLEEP HYPNOSIS is the funniest. Watching each actor play different versions of themselves is fantastic, especially Nandor’s arc.

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS has returned from its “super slumber” just in time to fill homes with Halloween-worthy laughs.

It’s available on Hulu FX.
