For a show about vampires, creatures of the undead, WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS isn’t usually scary – but the latest episode leans into the horrors of a haunted hospital, providing some genuine chills. As always, a Guillermo-centric episode is a treat, and URGENT CARE delivers, but this installment’s B-story revolves around Colin Robinson, who’s unable to feed after becoming too interesting. Harvey Guillén and Mark Proksch, respectively, shine in their roles, and this episode is no exception.
WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS often maintains its episodic nature while having an overarching story. In this season, Guillermo is a (talking) frog in boiling water, and his situation is quickly reaching an explosive point. We’re only in the middle of the season, but I bet we’ll see a blood bath soon enough.
WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS S5E6 URGENT CARE is now streaming on FX on Hulu.
